Introduction:
The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), a premier professional learned society serving more than 40,000 engineers in Malaysia, has established the following scholarships in recognition of its prominent leaders’/members contribution to the engineering profession and engineering education:
- The Tan Sri Datuk Ir. Prof. Chin Fung Kee Scholarship
- The Ir. Thean Lip Thong Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility:
- Malaysian Citizen;
- Pursuing or gained admission to a course of study in an approved local university or approved local centre of higher learning for any branch of the engineering professions accredited by the Board of Engineers (BEM) & the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM). The “Ir. Thean Lip Thong Memorial Scholarship” is only for students of University Malaya pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering;
- Not holding another scholarship (PTPTN Loan accepted);
- Has obtained 5 principles with more than 70 units at STPM or equivalent;
- Actively involved in extra-curriculum activities during previous study at school or other institute.
