The Taiwan Fellowship is offered by the Republic of China(Taiwan)for foreign experts and scholars to pursue advanced studies in social sciences and humanities related but not limited to the Republic of China (Taiwan) foreign policy, New Southbound Policy, cross-strait relations, Asia Pacific regional security, Taiwan’s participation in regional economic mechanism, gender equality and Sinology at Taiwan’s universities, colleges or research institutions.

Eligibility:

Foreign nationals who are professors, associate professors, senior lecturers, lecturers, doctoral candidates, doctoral program students at related departments of overseas universities, or are research fellows at an equivalent level in academic institutions abroad.

Value of Award:

  • One direct round-trip economy-class ticket between country of residence and Taiwan, subject to the relevant regulations;
  • Monthly stipends of NT$60,000 for professors, associate professors, research fellows, or associate research fellows; and NT$50,000 for assistant professors, assistant research fellows, or doctoral candidates;
  • Accident insurance (plus a medical insurance of accident injury) coverage of NT$1 million.

Duration:

3 months to a year.
