The Taiwan Fellowship is offered by the Republic of China（Taiwan）for foreign experts and scholars to pursue advanced studies in social sciences and humanities related to the Republic of China (Taiwan), cross-strait relations, mainland China, the Asia Pacific, and Sinology at Taiwan’s universities, colleges or research institutions.
Foreign nationals who are professors, associate professors, assistant professors, post-doctoral researchers, doctoral candidates, or doctoral program students at related departments of overseas universities, or are research fellows at an equivalent level in academic institutions abroad; or candidates recommended by ROC (Taiwan) overseas missions with a field of study on Taiwan’s foreign relations or cross-strait relations.
Value of Award:
One direct round-trip economy-class ticket between country of residence and Taiwan, subject to the following maximum subsidy for each area：
- Northeast and Southeast Asia: NT$35,000;
- Europe and West Asia: NT$60,000;
- North America: NT$55,000;
- Central and South America: NT$75,000;
- Africa: NT$90,000;
- Oceania: NT$65,000.
Monthly stipends of NT$60,000 for professors, associate professors, research fellows, or associate research fellows; and NT$50,000 for assistant professors, assistant research fellows, post-doctoral researchers, doctoral candidates, doctoral program students, and candidates recommended by ROC (Taiwan) missions.
Group accident insurance of NT$1 million for an accidental death, and NT$50,000 for accident injury medical benefits.
3 months to a year.
